As Babai’s admission procedure is completed today at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Science (SMIMS), Tadong, Sikkim, we rushed to Ganesh Tok to pray to the Lord Ganesh and seek his blessings for his successful future. During our last visit in July 2011, we visited here and prayed to the Lord Ganesh for Babai’s admission.
Ganesh Tok is a very small temple located next to the television tower on the hillock on Gangtok–Nathula Road. Ganesh Tok is located 7 km from Gangtok. The altitude of this spot would be 6,500 ft.
It offers a fascinating view of the surrounding regions. One can get a clear view of Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. The premises of the Raj Bhawan can also be viewed from this temple.
It was raining then and the city is covered by fog and cloud, but we still decided for going to Ganesh Tok. Babai and I went up the temple and prayed there. Jaya did not climb up the temple due to her pain and post-operation problems. The priest recognized us and he is such a nice person that he climbed down to our taxi to give blessings and prasad to Jaya. We were touched. Thanks, Lord Ganesh. Please be with us always and everywhere!
On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at the restaurant of the Hotel Knor-khill for some snacks. It is housed in a heritage building. The food was cooked excellent. Next time, we may check in at this hotel. We liked it.
