Chai & Pakora

Tagged: , , , , ,

We enjoyed the combo — hot onion & chillies pakoras with hot tea in kulhar (earthen mugs) during a rainy afternoon at a roadside stall on our way to Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi from Allahabad, It was just awesome!

Pakora is a fried snack originated in India. The word pakora is derived from Sanskrit word pakvavaṭa (पक्ववट),  a compound of pakva (‘cooked’) and vaṭa, ‘a small lump’. Pakoras are usually served as snacks or appetizers. They are also often served with chai to guests.
