My First Wedding Anniversary

Earlier this month, on the 3rd of May, I celebrated my very first wedding anniversary! It’s been an incredible journey so far, with much to be thankful for and much more to look forward to. I feel like it was a month or two ago that we went down to Dumka (Jharkhand), but then again when I look back on everything that has happened this year it feels like we have been married forever.

The Akitu feast was one of the most important religious festivals in ancient Mesopotamia. It marked the beginning of the new year and the renewal of life in spring. It was also a time to honor the supreme god Marduk and his son Nabu, who were believed to have created and ordered the universe out of chaos. It reaffirmed Marduk's role as the supreme god and creator of all things. It also reaffirmed the king's role as Marduk's representative on earth and his legitimacy as ruler of Babylon. It also reaffirmed the bond between the king, the gods, and the people, who shared a common destiny and fate.

On 17 May, we celebrate World Hypertension Day (WHD), a day dedicated to highlighting the importance of monitoring blood pressure and bringing global awareness to over 1 billion people living with high blood pressure worldwide. The theme of WHD for 2022 is “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer.” It focuses on combating low awareness rates worldwide, especially in low to middle-income areas, and accurate blood pressure measurement methods. The day focuses on creating effective communication about the importance of raising awareness on the early diagnosis of high blood pressure and avoiding complications of advanced stage complications.

Today, India is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day and the unfurling of the tricolour flag, parades, and cultural functions are held across the country. The hoisting of a flag signifies the country was freed after a span of colonial domination. The unfurling of the tricolour signifies that as a flag of a free country, it cannot stay hung at a lower height, but is held high above. On the 26th of January the tricolour is unfurled, that is, the flag stays high up at the tip of the flag pole (not at the middle or lower height of the pole) folded, and is spread out with the pull of the rope.

I can’t believe I turned 29!

I turned 29 on October 15. My mind is honestly blown about how quickly time passes. Just like that, my 20’s are getting over. It’s been an eventful decade of my life. I have become a qualified doctor. I began my professional career. And just before I turned 29, I got engaged to a lovely young lady. I might get married before I turn 30! I couldn’t be happier with the way my birthday turned out. I got to spend time with everyone that I love and to have a chat with everyone who called me to greet me. It was truly an amazing time.

My son, Judhajit's wedding is fixed. We had organized an elaborate arrangement for the Aashirwaad of the bride and groom in a nearby hotel — The Royal Retreat in Ranchi. The bride’s family came from Dumka, also in Jharkhand. Dumka is the second capital of Jharkhand state. The close family members and friends were invited to bless the would-be bride and groom. They came from places like Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, Kolkata, and Prayagraj. The family members of the would-be bride, Tania, came from Dumka, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Malda, and Mumbai.
