Baba Mandir | Shrine dedicated to Captain Harbhajan Singh

Located between Nathula and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 13,123 ft and about 52kms from Gangtok, Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple is popularly known as Baba Mandir. There is a touching story associated with this temple. Harbhajan Singh was a Sentry of Punjab Regiment and was posted here as part of border patrol force. The border with China is nearby. In October 1968 he disappeared. It is said that while escorting mules carrying provisions, he fell into a stream and drowned. After a few days he reappeared in the dreams of one of his sentry colleagues and asked him to make a memorial here on his name. The sentries then made a samadhi and later this temple was built. First Night Duty in Hospital | My Experience

It was just another evening when Dhananjay sir came to my room last evening quite tired from his surgery posting and said that he was quite upset for the plans for the night. Then suddenly something struck my mind and I asked him whether I could join him on his night duty as the next day was our holiday. I didn’t expect that but he accepted my proposal wholeheartedly and even promised me to teach things also. This was my first night experience at the emergency of hospital. The Gangtok Flower Show

The tiny state of Sikkim in Northeast India is home to 600 species of orchids! It is to showcase this wonderful bounty of nature and other exotic flowers that Sikkim hosts an international flower festival every year from March to May. Himalayan Zoological Park (Gangtok)

Himalayan Zoological Park, in Gangtok, is located on a hill near Ganesh Tok. It is at an altitude of 5,840 ft. It is a large zoo and visitors need to walk a considerable distance to see all that the zoo has to offer. Some of the Himalayan fauna in the zoo are Himalayan Black Bear, snow leopard, the leopard cat, Tibetan wolf, and Red Pandas besides some beautiful birds. The Gangtok Ropeway

If you are in Gangtok you must visit rope-way or cable cars located at Deorali market. The ride is fast, there is no pollution, and the views are breathtaking. The customers are mostly tourists with kids, and to accommodate their need to take photos and videos the cable cars actually pause for a couple of minutes in the middle of the ride—up and down swinging adding to the passengers’ excitement.
