The Gregorian New year is already upon us, and I wish for all to have a healthy year ahead. I had an awesome journey to the new year and will like to share my experience with you. We went to Ghatshila on 3-day bike trip to celebrate the journey of time from 2022 to 2023. This was my exhilarating adventurous new year celebration. I even felt a hangover from the bike road trip for the next few days. Just one thing repeating in my mind- NEED TO DO IT AGAIN!
On the morning of Monday, 11 July 2022, as I woke up and looked up towards the sky and I felt from inside “Aaj Kuch Toofani Karte Hain!” After some googling for a bike ride in this lovely weather, I found a place called Bagda valley viewpoint. I was not aware of this place as it’s still not on the popular tourist map but some people have been exploring it recently on bikes. The whole trip, the off-road riding and the steep uphill climb, everything is done to reach there was worth it.
Tarapith is a small temple located on the banks of the Dwarka River that flows in the Birbhum district. The temple is ancient and is considered to be extremely auspicious by the Hindu community. The regal temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in India, is one of the most important places where tantric rituals are followed even today.
Phuentsholing in Bhutan is around 25 km from Jaldapara via Hasimara. During our short stay in Jaldapara, we planned to visit Phuentsholing . I had visited this place long ago in 1988. As planned, we decided. In the afternoon, we started driving through the National Highway (NH-31) with tea gardens on both the sides.
Dooars are the alluvial floodplains in northeastern India that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin stretching from the Teesta River in West Bengal to the Dhanshiri River in Assam. Dooars is famous for tea, tourism, timber, elephants and rhinoceros.
