10th Anniversary of Indrosphere

Ten years ago, the first post on Indrosphere was published. It feels like I’ve been blogging forever, but at the same time, those ten years went by quickly! I’d been thinking about blogging ever since I first heard about it, and after inventing and then discarding a number of things to blog about, I took the age-old writing advice to write about what I knew. Blogging at the time was a grand experiment for me.

I am proud to say that my son Judhajit has become a co-traveller in this journey and he is also publishing some amazing posts. My wife, Jagrata has contributed with one post. Since that day, we’ve written 285 blog posts. They’re of varying lengths, but I’d say they average 727 words. That’s 207,131 words. The equivalent of two books! Wow!

I have tried different platforms but settled on WordPress ten years ago and that has been the easiest platform to use for blogging, customizing and backups. I have made numerous enhancements to my blog in the past 10 years. I have added lots of new categories, tags, and updated my template.

It’s been an amazing 10 years. The posts have received 158,956 visitors from 187 countries, 378,913 views, 9,025 likes, and 2,603 comments. We’re humbled. We want to thank the readers and 1,591 followers of this blog. We appreciate your encouragement and kind words.

Blogging has been a big part of my life. I think blogging has made me a better human though. A better communicator. It’s made me really think about what I put out there on internet. I look forward to being able to continue the tradition in the future as well.

Happy 10th anniversary, Indrosphere!
