In her desperation, the sparrow turned to Lord Krishna, who stood amidst the preparations with Arjuna by his side. Krishna, the embodiment of divinity, listened to her plea with compassion but explained that he could not interfere with the natural order of things.

Yet, the sparrow’s faith remained unshaken. She surrendered herself and her offspring to the will of Krishna, recognizing him as the ultimate protector and sustainer of life. In response, Krishna advised her to prepare for the days ahead by stocking food in her nest.

Unbeknownst to Arjuna, Krishna’s interaction with the sparrow held deeper significance. Two days later, as the battle loomed on the horizon, Krishna took up his bow and arrow, a sight that surprised Arjuna, who believed Krishna had sworn not to wield weapons in the war.

Krishna’s arrow struck an elephant, not to cause harm but to dislodge a bell that had once adorned its neck. Arjuna, puzzled by this seemingly trivial act, questioned Krishna’s motives. However, Krishna remained steadfast, offering no explanation as the war commenced and raged for eighteen days.
