My First Wedding Anniversary

Hi everyone! Earlier this month, on the 3rd of May, I celebrated my very first wedding anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been more than 365 days of marriage and it’s been an incredible journey so far, with much to be thankful for and much more to look forward to.

I’m so excited to share with you some photos and memories from our first wedding anniversary. It was such a special day for us and we wanted to celebrate it in a meaningful way. It was just as beautiful and romantic as we remembered it.

I feel like it was a month or two ago that we went down to Dumka (Jharkhand), but then again when I look back on everything that has happened this year it feels like we have been married forever.

And let me just tell you how fast this year has gone by. I have been sitting here trying to find the words to perfectly describe our first year of marriage…but rather than words or descriptions popping into my head, memories are what comes instead. Memories from these last 365 days embody the image of our first year. But when I think of our first year of marriage, I think more of the little memories we have made…

There are a few small things like going on our first vacation together to Ghatshila (Jharkhand) on New Year’s Eve and enjoying the road trip on my bike. We went to prehistoric caves in Jharkhand. We went to Kolkata with my parents to meet my granny and the wedding of my dad’s son. The most memorable one was our recent trip to Takdah, Darjeeling, West Bengal, in the lap of the Himalayas.

That aside, being married to such a lovely woman has been bliss. I’m lucky I’m this blessed to have someone that takes good care of me and my family and makes me her priority.

My wife, T’s parents came to our house in Ranchi (Jharkhand) along with my two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law to be with us for our wedding anniversary celebration. We had lunch together and cut a cake in the afternoon.

In the evening my dad and I organised a party at the Capitol Residency Hotel in Ranchi. It was a nice gathering of around 50 people, which included my seniors, colleagues, family members, and our close family friends.

The hotel management arranged a nice anniversary cake for us. Thanks, Mr. Kundu. We wanted to live the wedding moment again and so we exchanged our rings before cutting the cake. My parents gifted T a diamond Mangal sutra, which I tied around her neck. The snacks and the dinner were lovely and enjoyed by everyone present there.

Thank you for reading this blog post and for being part of our journey. We appreciate your support, love, and friendship. Until next time, stay safe and happy!
